PRO AFP to PDF
PRO AFP to PDF dynamically converts documents from Advanced Function Printing (AFPDS) into standard Portable Document Format (PDF) files for use with browsers such as Adobe's Acrobat® Reader.
Crawford's PRO AFP to PDF transformation product adds usage flexibility. PRO AFP to PDF provides customers with a way to also move their AFP printing applications to the Internet or to archival/retrieval environments without making costly application changes.
Superior font management is the key to providing a successful print transform product and PRO AFP to PDF provides the utmost ease of use for font utilization. Standard AFP fonts are automatically mapped to standard Acrobat fonts.
Custom fonts are automatically converted to PDF fonts. PRO AFP to PDF has the flexibility to map fonts to either standard PostScript/PDF Type 1 fonts or embedded Type 1 fonts for a clean look.
PDF overlays can be used to emulate pre-printed form stock.
This allows easy creation of watermarks allowing the full power of PDF to be utilized within legacy applications. This approach can be used to add full color graphics, web site links, java scripts and much more.
With PRO AFP to PDF any data in the print file can be used in Bookmarks and automatically organized into multiple levels for easy navigation. Index rules can be set up allowing indexing on multiple criteria. PRO AFP to PDF uses object-to-object transformation rather than object-to-bitmap transforms.
This approach produces a PDF file optimized (including compression of all resources) for printing.
PRO AFP to PDF can also be used by Web-based applications to convert AFP files to PDF dynamically at retrieval time. The high-speed transformation performance of PRO AFP to PDF permits this dynamic conversion.
