PRO Meta Normalization
PRO Meta Normalization: interprets and converts Xerox LCDS and metacode print-streams into standard normalized page independent Xerox Metacode.

PRO suite of products provides solutions to ease implementation of print stream conversions on z/OS, OS/390 and MVS, Solaris, AIX, Linux, Unix and Windows systems. They also provide management of conversion processes, automated JES to FTP, LPR and TCP/IP printers, normalize AFP, LCDS and metacode print files, index printstreams, re-engineer print streams, add barcodes, OMR marks and control numbers and a host of other advanced capabilities.

The Crawford Technology PRO Meta Normalization product, when combined with a PRO transform product like PRO Meta to PDF, is recognized as one of the premier data delivery software solutions in the printing industry. Clients continue to use this modular product when delivering a solution that combines integrated host to printer functionality with fast, accurate print-stream interpretation, conversion, indexing and file splitting.

PRO Meta Normalization provides a number of uses for Xerox LCDS and Metacode customers such as:
  • Optimizing applications for better printer throughput
  • Converting offline applications to online Xerox format for use with bus & tag and TCP/IP attached printers
  • Converting online applications to offline Xerox format for outsourcing, disaster recovery or other purposes
  • Splitting large print files into multiple print files
  • Selecting pages for reprint purposes

    • By dynamically interpreting and normalizing Xerox LCDS and Metacode print-streams during the same PRO transformation process pass, clients can interface traditional computer systems with newer printing technologies. The PRO Meta Normalization product interprets Xerox LCDS and Metacode print-streams and resources and converts them into standard normalized Metacode files. These individual normalized files can then be printed directly to a printer, archived or converted into other formats. The format of the normalized print files can be tailored to you installation's standards.

    The key to the power and flexibility of PRO Meta Normalization product is the way it manages print resources. The product determines which Xerox resources are required by an application and ensures that they are available for the normalized output files. The PRO Meta Normalization product offers the greatest flexibility for resource utilization by providing several user-selectable methods of handling Xerox resources. Resources can be referenced from the output file, or they can be placed at the beginning of the print file as downloaded resources. Alternatively, they can be put into a separate download file.
