PRO PS Extraction
PRO PostScript Extraction reads PostScript input print-streams and extracts text information from the input PostScript and splits PostScript files into multiple sub-document output files.

PRO suite of products provides solutions to ease implementation of print stream conversions on z/OS, OS/390 and MVS, Solaris, AIX, Linux, Unix and Windows systems. They also provide management of conversion processes, automated JES to FTP, LPR and TCP/IP printers, normalize AFP, LCDS and metacode print files, index printstreams, re-engineer print streams, add barcodes, OMR marks and control numbers and a host of other advanced capabilities.

PostScript extraction
PRO PS Extraction

On many occasions, clients need the capability to access and modify PostScript Page Description Language files. There may be a need to modify or convert the output format before it is released for printing or viewing. The PRO PS Extraction program can be used for the following:
  • Extracting selected information from PostScript print files for repurposing in HTML and XML web pages.
  • Creating individual statements in preparation for conversion to PDF.
  • Selective reprinting.
  • Preparing documents for COLD systems or Report Management systems.

    Crawford Technologies' PRO PS Extraction program reads PostScript input print-streams and provides facilities to extract textual information from the input PostScript files. This same program can also split PostScript files into multiple sub-documents or output files. The separated output files can be printed on PostScript printers or converted into PDF using tools such as Adobe Acrobat's Distiller product.

    With the PRO PS Extraction program, the extracted text can be used to create individual statement HTML and XML pages for use with products such as the CheckFree i-Solutions i-Series products.

    Also by utilizing the PRO PS Extraction program, documents as well as specific pages of PostScript print files can be easily reprinted, allowing clients to select only those documents or pages that were spoiled in the printing and post-print document handling process.
