PRO AFP to Text for CICS dynamically converts Advanced Function Presentation (MODCA-P, AFPDS and AFP Category 5) documents into text. This text can be used for display on 3270 screens without graphics capability or 3270 emulation software. PRO AFP to Text for CICS runs as a CICS transaction, providing very fast response times.
PRO AFP to Text for CICS delivers high-speed performance indispensable in mission-critical applications. Thanks to that, PRO AFP to Text for CICS allows CICS applications to retrieve AFP mainframe print datasets and display them in text. The process of conversion is integrated with CICS. A CICS application can pass to PRO AFP to Text for CICS an AFP document in a VSAM dataset and PRO AFP to Text for CICS will immediately perform the requested conversion and pass the output of the conversion back to the user application via a VSAM dataset, in real time.
