Completely Automate Dynamic Workflow Management of Transactional Documents

    PRO WorkFlow Family
CrawfordTech's PRO WorkFlow family builds on the proven PRO WorkFlow JES and PRO WorkFlow Server product families and incorporates the new, powerful PRO WorkFlow Connector software to provide a single vendor solution allowing customers to automate their document development, testing, production, mail processing, distribution and archiving processes.

This new product, unique to the transactional document market place, frees data files, resources, metadata and related production processes from any dependence on computing platform(s) throughout all of the processes in a document's life cycle. With the PRO WorkFlow family of products users can:
    • Completely integrate and automate dynamic workflow management of transactional documents and related production processes
    • Automate the movement of data, resources, job information and other metadata from Windows or Unix computing platforms to the mainframe platform and vice versa or between Windows and Unix environments resulting in full cross platform compatibility
    • Automatically initiate transformations and other data manipulation jobs based on the user's template file customized in the workflow
    • Automatically manage the workflow of results back to developers, other users and/or dynamically assigned printers, print spoolers, archive systems or target FTP sites via, multi-target and multi-protocol file delivery over the Web and/or internally

The PRO WorkFlow product family is packaged in a modular fashion, so users can acquire only those components they need to configure a site specific solution with the required capacity. This means that customers can obtain what they need today and can be confident that the solution can be scaled up and/or to different platforms if the need arises. There are also entry level configurations available for those organizations that have simpler and more static automation needs.

The PRO WorkFlow product family includes the following components:

    • The PRO Workflow Connector, a fully automatic, high performance solution used to move output related data streams and resources freely between all computing platforms as well as to initiate data manipulation applications, such as transformations, print stream re-engineering, ACIF, composition engines, etc., based on user's template file customized in the workflow.
    • PRO Workflow Server, a queue manager used to automate data manipulation applications, such as transformations, print stream re-engineering, ACIF or composition engines, on files retrieved from input queues (including JES spools), while concurrently routing the output files to dynamically assigned destinations such as printers, folders and FTP sites.
    • PRO WorkFlow JES, a software tool used for automating the extraction of input files from the JES spool for data manipulation applications such as transformations, print stream re-engineering, ACIF, composition engines, etc and for routing the output files to the specified destinations, such as a printers, JES spools or FTP sites.

In addition to cross-platform freedom and the benefits flowing from full automation and integration of workflow management, the PRO WorkFlow product family provides customers with the ability to:

    • Use the best of breed software tools available on each platform with no adverse effects on connectivity
    • Bridge the gaps between different access rights/security models
    • Bridge the skill gaps found when working across different platforms
    • Reduce costs through employee productivity and improved asset utilization
    • Adopt and maximize the benefits of new technologies regardless of which platform they reside on
The PRO WorkFlow product family is available on z/OS, Windows, AIX, Solaris, HP-UX and Linux platforms allowing the users to install the software where they need it. The power of the PRO WorkFlow family can be applied to the widest range of inputs and/or outputs in the industry, including LCDS/Metacode, PostScript, PDF, AFP, PCL, HTML, TIFF, Flat files, Line data, ASCII, EBCDIC and SCS.
