CrawfordTech's DAS: Alternate Format Statements for Your Print Disabled Customers

From our New York-based PCI-compliant facility, CrawfordTech’s DAS uses your existing customer communications data to produce alternate formats including conversion to PDF/UA, Braille (grades one and two), Large Print, Audio and E-text. In a timely, accurate and secure manner, we process and can deliver your alternate format transactional documents in English, Spanish and French.

CrawfordTech's DAS accepts most common print files including, AFP, Xerox Meta code, PCL, PostScript, PDF, EBCDIC, ASCII and other data types such as XML. In some cases, clients securely transfer a pre-split file that includes only the visually impaired and print disabled customer’s documents. If needed, however, we can split out the required documents from a complete print file.

CrawfordTech's DAS:

  • Configures and runs the information extraction process
  • Converts the data into the alternate formats that include  Braille (grades one and two), Large Print, Audio and E-text
  • Creates the physical output and distributes it to the clients
  • Alternatively, the distribution can be done by the organization based on a file shipped to them by CrawfordTech

DAS Audit Reports

An integral DAS component is the reconciliation, billing, delivery and QA reports we provide as a part of the process. These reports provide a regular and comprehensive view of the alternate format production and delivery.

DAS Reconciliation reports include:

  • Daily, weekly, monthly
  • Total volume
  • Segregated statement type
  • Full disclosure
  • Account number
  • Pages
  • Statement date

The DAS Billing Report can be delivered monthly, bi-weekly, twice monthly, or weekly. The Billing Report is a numbered list that includes the following information:

  • Account number
  • Statement date
  • Customer name
  • Wireless number (if required)
  • Pages in/out
  • Postage
  • Courier

The DAS Delivery Report is provided daily or weekly and includes reporting of statement production within SLA parameters

DAS Quality Assurance reports are reflected in the SLA. As part of the process, 10% of all alternate format statements processed are pulled for inspection. The items we look for include pagination and proper printing.
