Crawford Technologies to Exhibit and Speak at CSUN Assistive Technology Conference

March 8, 2018, Toronto, ON – Crawford Technologies, provider of innovative document solutions that streamline, improve and manage customer communications, will be exhibiting and speaking at the 33rd Annual CSUN Assistive Technology Conference held March 19-23, 2018 in Northridge, California. This conference, presented by California State University, Northridge’s Center on Disabilities, is the world’s largest event dedicated to technology and disabilities, featuring more than 100 exhibitors, 350+ workshop sessions and 5,000 attendees. Crawford Technologies is committed to developing innovative solutions that make it possible to automate the creation and delivery of accessible documents that comply with changing regulatory requirements.

Crawford Technologies will be showcasing in booth #516 its Auto Tagger for Accessibility, named the 2018 Technology of the Year by electronic document systems association Xplor International. The solution automates the process of creating documents that can be recognized by assistive technologies, making it fast and easy to convert unstructured documents to accessible PDF or HTML in real time, reducing the time needed for a specialist or designer. The solution is the first on the market to easily and cost effectively address the need for creating ADA and Section 508 compliant ad hoc communications such as letters, notices, marketing documents, books, manuals, contracts and legal documents.

Crawford Technologies will also be hosting two educational sessions at the conference:

  • How a Health Insurer Made Transactional Documents Accessible on Wednesday, March 21 at 3:20 p.m. Crawford Technology’s senior field executive, Doug Koppenhofer, will examine how a large health insurer responded to regulatory mandates by implementing a solution that gives them the capability to dynamically deliver accessible customer-facing documents.
  • Document Accessibility – Automation & Auto Tagging on Wednesday, March 21 at 4:20 p.m. Dennis Quon, Crawford Technology’s document accessibility solutions development manager, will join Doug Koppenhofer to discuss the need for organizations to create a strategy for compliant, accessible enterprise and transactional documents. The session will cover how automating accessibility tagging for assistive devices within documents can reduce error-prone, slow and costly manual remediation by using intelligent algorithms.

“CSUN Assistive Technology Conference is an event designed to deepen the understanding of accessible solutions and to make inclusive technology available to a larger audience,” said Ernie Crawford, president and CEO of Crawford Technologies. “We are excited to participate as this conference aligns perfectly with our company’s mission to drive solutions that address the needs of blind, partially sighted and cognitively impaired individuals.”
